Olga Torres, a resident of Gilroy, passed away on June 25, 2011, at the age of 71.
She is survived by children Albert Jr., Robert, Cindy (Haglund), Jeanette (Ostrowski), Rodney and Molly (Ham); 12 grandchildren (Robert Jr., Josh, David, Curtis, Dana, Brandon, Wesley, Samantha, Matthew, Sydney, Deanna, Taylor) four great-grandchildren (Jade, Riley, Robert III, Leila); and siblings Irma Maquinalez, Jim Garcia, Margie Ruiz, and Natalie Delgado. She was preceded in death by sons Phillip and Miguel.
A devoted and generous mother, Olga was a long-time South County resident. Her home was a constant gathering place for family and friends, especially on holidays, and always filled with joy. She often enjoyed playing Bingo.
She retired from Gilroy Foods.
A memorial mass will be held Friday at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Church, 11 First Street in Gilroy. She will be interred at Mt. Hope Memorial Park in Morgan Hill. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the American Cancer Society in her name.
