Airport management a shambles

There's always a certain sense of energy as a new year dawns. It's out with the old and in with the new; we resolve to stop doing this or start doing that; we look back on the year that was and look forward at the year that will be.

One of the reasons I call this column the "Mobile Skeptic" is that I spend a lot of time driving, during which I come up with a lot of my ideas. My car gets about 30 miles to the gallon, and that's how I rationalize driving 90 miles a day round trip to work, even in this time of heightened concern about auto emissions and dependence on foreign oil.

It would appear congratulations are in order for Jan McClintock, city manager of San Juan Bautista. Together with entertainment organizer Frank Beaty, she has arranged for an international folk festival to be held in San Juan Bautista next Memorial Day weekend.
