Guest View: Alejo’s solution to fix state roads

If you drove your car today, or took a bus to get around, this is something you likely experienced—a pothole!

Question of the Week answers: Support tiny homes?

Panelists and readers answered the following: Do you support the mayor’s idea to develop a village of “tiny homes” for the homeless as transitional shelter?

Letter: Different view to the ‘gateway’ column

Why is it that it seems many liberal people believe in tolerance for all gays, cross dressers, transgenders, or same sex marriages? All others are to be accepting  and understanding to these types, and heaven help us if we conservative people stand up for our traditional definition of marriage that is just between a man and a women that has been the standard for thousands of years. When these tolerant, sweet people state their beliefs and opinions, all others that believe differently  are told that we are intolerant, homophobic, and harsh, insensitive people.

Letter: Freedom of speech at meetings

First and foremost, I want to thank the citizens who continue to give feedback and are concerned about our city. It’s greatly appreciated and I am willing to try my best to help in any way I can.

Readers’ Question of the Week: ‘Tiny homes’ a good idea?

The Free Lance is now offering readers the chance to answer the Question of the Week that publishes in the newspaper each edition.

Letter: Ombudsman mission to carry out

My letter supports adequate funding for the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) currently being considered by our legislators. I urge readers to contact their state senator and assembly members and request adequate funding be allocated to help protect people living in long-term care facilities.

Question of the Week: Tax dollars on public art?

Panelists and readers answered this: Hollister spent $4,000 toward the painting of five utility boxes in downtown. Should the city spend tax dollars on public art?

Readers invited to answer ‘Question of the Week’

Starting today, the Free Lance is inviting readers to answer the Question of the Week—formerly called Water Cooler—which publishes each Friday on the Free Lance Opinion page and at SanBenitoCountyToday.com.

Letter: Rebuild it, and they will come

If you rebuild it, they will come. Hopefully, this will encourage more tennis at Dunne Memorial Park. The newly resurfaced tennis courts look great and are very easy to play on.
