Patricia G. Lomanto passed away unexpectedly at her residence Dec. 17th at the age of 72 years. A native of Hollister, Patricia graduated from Sacred Heart School and San Benito High School. “Pat” as she was affectionately called by her friends, worked for the Hollister School District for over 30 years as a Teachers Aid, the greatest percentage of the time spent at Sunnyslope Elementary School. She also served as the “Cross Walk Lady” at the Hillcrest and Memorial Drive intersection. Upon her retirement she returned to Sunnyslope School to volunteer where ever she could. “She was devoted to the children in the District, and she made long time friendships as a result of her efforts”, said her daughters. Patricia loved to read, travel – especially to Reno- “it was a ladies day out” said her daughters. She loved animals, her cats, and collected all types of items featuring pictures of cats. Her survivors are her children and their spouses Kelly and David Dominguez of Hollister, Julie and Dave Derr of Weiser, Idaho; Peter and Tracey Lomanto of Los Banos; her eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law Verna and Phil Globke of Utah, in-laws Peter and Carmen Lomanto of Hollister, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her son Chuck Lomanto.

Friends are invited to a memorial service and celebration of Patricia’s life on Monday Dec. 22nd at 1:00 P.M. at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home 870 San Benito St., Hollister. Private interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Sunnyslope School Sunshine Club c/o the mortuary chapel.
