On March 21, 2011, Paul joined his Wife, Maria Oralia (Yaya) Ruiz-Rede, and Daughter, Mary Rede-Gregorio, Both of whom preceded him in death.

Born in New Mexico, Paul settled in Gilroy after serving in the US Navy during WWII and The Korean Conflict. There he met and married his wife of 42 years.

He is survived by his sons, Edward, Leonard and Lawrence. Grandchildren; Joel, Michael, Matthew, Melanie, Paul and Lawrence and great-grandchildren Gavin

and Audrey. He is also survived by four brothers, a sister, and many nieces and nephews.

After his Service in the Navy, He made a career as an Auto Mechanic and then as the owner of Rede’s Downtown Flowers, until he retired in 1992.

An avid reader and golfer, he was also a past member of VFW Post #6309.

Visitation will be Tues., March 29, 2011, at 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th St. Gilroy.

Mass of the Christian burial will be Wed., March 30, 2011, 1:30 P.M. at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 11 First St. Gilroy.

Interment will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery 900 First St. Gilroy.
