Paul Peter Matulich, age 87, of Chico, CA, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. He was born on Aug. 4, 1919, in Hollister, CA, to Peter Matulich and Helen (Arnerich) Matulich.
Paul was a World War II veteran who served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps.
Paul was married on Dec. 1, 1946 to Marie Ivancovich in Watsonville, CA.
He was a farmer in Hollister for 20 years. He moved his family to Chico in 1962 and worked for Butte County Dept. of Public Works until he retired in 1981. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Paul enjoyed the times he spent on the lake with his family and friends.
His friendly smile, kind heart, and funny sense of humor will be missed by all of those who loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marie Matulich; two daughters, Paula (Ron) Murphy, and Chris (Rich) Tognetti. Sisters: Helen Maginni of Hollister, Margaret Corotto of Sonora, and Frances Matulich of Hollister, brother, Bill Matulich of Benton City, Wash., and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 16, 2007, at 11 A.M., at Our Divine Savior, 566 East Lassen Ave., Chico, CA. Burial will be at the Glen Oaks Memorial Park following the service.
