Peggy Clark Carr died Thursday, Nov. 27 at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose after complications from heart surgery. She was 78.

Peggy was born in Mohall, N.D., on Feb. 9, 1925, was married to Robert Clark for 41 years and resided in Los Alamitos, Calif. After Bob’s death in 1987, Peggy married Reo Carr Sr., in 1991 and lived in Hollister from 1994 until her death.

Peggy was a very proud mother and reveled in the activities of her two daughters and their families: Laurie McGinnis and husband Mike who live in Stanton, and Linda Sherman and husband Bob who live in Minneapolis, Minn. She adored her four grandchildren, Megan and Kelsey McGinnis, and Jeremy and Alec Sherman.

She is survived by husband Reo; brother Dwain Freeburg, nieces Pam Stahl and Sandy Dum; nephew Mike Freeburg and many extended family members.

Peggy always pursued any challenge that came her way. She was an accomplished seamstress, having graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in home economics. She taught home economics for several years as a fulltime teacher and then as a substitute teacher. She loved to cook and was an avid Bridge player.

During her lifetime, she touched everyone she met in a very special way. Her kindness and concern for others followed her wherever she went.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital for their kindness, attention and care during Peggy’s stay.

Friends are invited to celebrate her life at an open house to be held at her home Sunday, Dec. 7 from 2 to 5 p.m.
