Peter Michael Wright died at his Alhambra home Wednesday, Sept. 24. He was 59.

He graduated from St. Francis Seminary High School in Santa Barbara, Loyola University in Los Angeles, the University of Oxford in England, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1968 and his master’s degree in 1973. He later received his PhD at UCLA.

He was a teacher for 23 years at Loyola High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frances and Charles Wright.

He is survived by his wife Peggy of Alhambra; step-son Jonathan Charles Herrera of San Francisco; step-daughter Meredith Ellen Herrera of Alhambra; sister Sheila (Thomas J.) Leaman of Vashon, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.

Rosary services will be offered Monday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito St. in Hollister.

Funeral services will be begin Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home proceeding to Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Fifth and College streets in Hollister for a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with burial and graveside services to follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hollister.

Donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) or Vitas Hospice in care of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home.
