Philip entered into rest after 102 wonderful years. He was born in Wakayama, Japan, and arrived in the United States in 1915. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Sakaye, daughter Rose (Saito), sister Kathryn (Murata) and grandson Todd. He is survived by: sisters, Grace Takashima, Dorothy Katayama and Mary Nakayama (Wayne); sons, Arthur, Isao and Richard; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Philip enjoyed gardening, singing, strategy games, gambling & traveling. He had an active & inquisitive mind & loved learning new things. For his lOOth birthday, he took a cruise to Mexico & then a cruise to Alaska in his 101st year.

Friends are invited to a Memorial service at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Morgan Hill Buddhist Community Center, 16450 Murphy Ave., Morgan Hill, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in his memory be made to the Morgan Hill Buddhist Church Fund, P.O. Box 933, Morgan Hill, CA 95038.
