Pinnacles ranger Michelle Armijo talks to a class about the California condor at the Dual Language Academy at Gabilan Hills.

Pinnacles National Park is enticing students in their late teens and early 20s to work alongside park rangers to assist visitors in learning about the region.
The park is seeking six youth for their Centennial Ranger Corps to help tourists learn about local ecology; geology; cultural history; and flora and fauna.
Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 25, pass a background check and be able to work eight hours a day on weekends and holidays from November through June.
Youth must commit to at least 300 hours of service. Participants receive a weekly stipend of $144—the equivalent of about $9 an hour—plus a $1,175 AmeriCorps educational award.
To apply, send a cover letter, resume and references to [email protected] by Oct. 31. For more information, send emails to the same address or call Lemons at (831) 389-4486 X237.
