Police on Friday arrested a Hollister man on suspicion of committing lewd and lascivious acts against a child under age 14 over the course of more than a year, according to the Hollister Police Department.

On Friday, Hollister Police Detective Chris Wells arrested Candelario Juarez, 33, on suspicion of unlawful touching of a minor.
In November the Hollister Police Department received a report of a child under 14 being touched by a man in an inappropriate manner. At the time of the report, the minor was no longer in danger from the alleged suspect.
Representatives from the San Benito County District Attorney’s Office, child protective services, victim witness assistance and Hollister Police Detective Chris Wells conducted further investigation into the incident.
The investigation revealed several alleged incidents of lewd or lascivious acts against the minor over the period of more than a year. Detective Wells was able to contact the suspect, Candelario Juarez today at his home on the 600 block of Fifth Street. Juarez was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the San Benito County Jail where he was booked for two counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a minor and his bail is set at $200,000.
