Hollister police Saturday arrested a 21-year-old Hollister man who is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder while searching for another probation suspect at an Almond Drive residence, according to police.

Officers joined the San Benito County Probation Department in the probation search on Almond Drive. Two brothers were arrested, one of them suspected of attempted murder in connection with a February 2008 shooting of an unarmed man on Western Court in Hollister.

Police arrested David Del Real, 21, of Hollister when they found the attempted murder suspect hiding under a pile of clothing in the laundry room of the residence, according to a press release. The two agencies had been searching for, and also found, his 25-year-old brother, who had been wanted on suspicion of violating probation terms.

The attempted murder suspect had been a fugitive since the February 2008 shooting.

Anyone with any information regarding that incident is requested to call Sgt. George Ramirez at 636-4330. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTIP at (800) 78-CRIME. Information provided to WeTIP may qualify for a reward.
