According to the police statement:
On Sept. 21, a Hollister Police investigation into a residential burglary resulted in the arrest of two Hollister residents for burglary.
At about 9:30 am, Hollister Police officers were called to the 600 block of Seventh St. regarding the report of a residential burglary. During the follow-up investigation, officers located surveillance footage that showed the suspects arriving and leaving the victim’s property during the timeframe in which the burglary occurred.
Armed with that surveillance footage, officers were quickly able to identify the Hollister men, ages 18 and 20, as the suspects in this case. At about 1:00 pm, a resident in the 600 block of Seventh St. familiar with the investigation called to report that they had returned to the area. They fled the scene but were apprehended by responding Hollister Police officers. Officers recovered some of the victim’s stolen property from the suspects, and later from a local pawn broker.
The suspects were booked at the San Benito County Jail on charges of burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. Officers are continuing to investigate the case.
