BATTERY:

Ruben Lujan, 18, of 1020 Powell St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police on B Street and Homestead Avenue at 9:30pm on Tuesday for battery and resisting arrest, misdemeanors, after he allegedly pushed his mother and ran from officers, police said.

Daniel Kostielney, 22, of 120 Falconi Way in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at the 100 block of Falconi Way at 11:05am on Tuesday for battery, a misdemeanor, after a woman he lives with said he twisted her arms behind her back during an argument, police said.

CAR THEFT:

Carlos Vasquez Quintana, 20, of Salinas, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies for car theft and receiving stolen property, felonies, and driving without a license, a misdemeanor, at the 3000 block of Salinas Road at 2:45am on Tuesday, police said. Quintana allegedly stole a car from the 90 block of Locust Avenue in Hollister, and a checkbook from a vehicle at a different location, police said.

UNDER THE INFLUENCE

OF DRUGS:

Richard Eugene Miranda, Jr., 46, of 400 Fourth St. in San Juan Bautista, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, in front of his home at 6:45pm on Tuesday, police said.

DRUNK IN PUBLIC:

Renato Mejia, 27, of 361 Primavera Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 3:13pm on Monday at San Benito and South streets for being drunk in public and theft, misdemeanors, after he took money from a tip jar at Mi Casa Taqueria on San Benito Street.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
