HIT AND RUN:
Jose Maria Zarate Sanchez, 23, of 950 Mission Vineyard Rd. in San Juan Bautista, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies for a hit and run and being drunk in public, both misdemeanors, after he rear-ended a car on Highway 156 and The Alameda around 1pm on Sunday and left the scene, police said. Witnesses identified Sanchez, and he was later found and arrested in the Windmill parking lot at 6:50pm for being drunk in public because police did not see him driving the car drunk, police said.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
Mark Wayne Vinecke, 48 and Corrina A. Vinecke, 39, of 79 Lisa Lane in Hollister, were arrested by sheriff’s deputies for domestic violence, a felony, at their home at 1:21pm on Saturday after an argument escalated and they injured each other, police said. Deputies were unable to determine who the primary aggressor was, so both were arrested, police said. Both suspects had minor visible injuries and complaint of pain, police said.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
David Wright Wallace, 39, of 720 Brentwood Ct. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, on Tres Pinos Road at 12:37am on Sunday, police said.
Jonathan Castillo, 18, of San Jose, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, in the 820 block of Jacqueline Drive at 4:31am on Sunday, police said.
POSSESSION OF DRUGS:
Aaron Amezcua, 18, of Watsonville, was arrested by Hollister police for possession of a controlled substance, a felony, in the 1500 block of Valley View Road at 12:44am on Saturday, police said.
ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON:
Adrian David Cortez, 18, of 170 Gonzalez Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 2:31pm on Friday for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, conspiracy to commit a crime and vandalism, all felonies, after he and another suspect who has not been arrested yet tried to break into a home in the 100 block of San Felipe Road, police said. Cortez and another suspect broke the windows of the home with metal bars and then got into a car, police said. When one of the residents came outside to confront them, they hit him with their car, throwing him onto the hood and into the windshield. Officers were able to identify Cortez and arrested him at his home, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
