Vandalism

A window was broken between 5 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday at Los Cuates Market, 220 San Felipe Road in Hollister, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.

Property worth $50 was vandalized at about 6 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Wright Road, the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office said. There are no suspects.

A mailbox was vandalized about 1 a.m. in the 2700 block of Buena Vista Road, deputies said. There are no suspects.

Arson

A car was set on fire about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Willow Drive in Hollister, police said. Gang-related language was scratched into the hood of the car, police said. There are no suspects.

Drugs

A 22-year-old Hollister man was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of violating a restraining order and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, after officers were called at 3:55 p.m. Friday to a Hollister residence, police said.

A 20-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of a felony warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, after a San Benito County Sheriff’s deputy found him at 12:02 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Monterey Street in Hollister, police said.

A 28-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, a misdemeanor, after officers responded to the call of drug dealing at 6:29 p.m. Saturday in the first block of San Felipe Road in Hollister, police said.

A 42-year-old Hollister woman was arrested by police on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, a misdemeanor, after officers found her slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle at 9:53 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Monte Carlo Drive in Hollister, police said.

A 29-year-old Hollister man was arrested by deputies on suspicion of drug possession, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid license and a warrant, all misdemeanors, after a traffic stop at 3:27 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Powell Avenue and Brown Alley in Hollister, deputies said.

Public intoxication

A 58-year-old Morgan Hill man was arrested by police on suspicion of public intoxication, a misdemeanor, after officers found him sleeping in a vehicle at 12:46 a.m. Saturday in the first block of Hawkins Street in Hollister, police said.

A 21-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of public intoxication, a misdemeanor, after officers found him at 11:24 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Fifth and San Benito streets in Hollister, police said.

Domestic violence

A 28-year-old Hollister woman was arrested by police on suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies, after officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at 4:54 p.m. Sunday at a Hollister apartment, police said. A woman had hit another woman with a pipe, police said.

Driving under the influence

A 40-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop at 10:14 p.m. Friday in the 1700 block of Airline Highway in Hollister, police said.

A 23-year-old Salinas man was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of an open container and driving without a valid license, all misdemeanors, after a Sheriff’s Office deputy turned him over to officers at 7:32 p.m. Friday on Highway 156 east of Rocks Road, according to the CHP.

Property crime

A 40-year-old Hollister man was arrested by deputies on suspicion of vandalism and three counts of child endangerment, all felonies, and tampering with a vehicle, trespassing and petty theft, all misdemeanors, after deputies were called at 7:25 p.m. Sunday to the 2700 block of Fairview Road, deputies said. A man had decided he wanted to take back the truck he’d sold another man, deputies said. He went onto a property to speak with a man, who wasn’t home at the time, deputies said. The man then stole a battery from a boat, put it in the truck and drove through a fence, almost hitting three children, deputies said.
