VEHICLE THEFT:

Pedro Cristino, 20, of 7 Rustic St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for stealing a car from a residence on Rustic Street, a felony, on Sunday and was arrested Monday at 2:25am in the area of Hillcrest Road and McCray Street after an off-duty officer spotted the stolen car, police said.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:

Gary Lee Larios, 27, of 110 Bridge Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, in the 1300 block of San Juan Road at 2:31am on Sunday, police said.

Mohammad Safiari, 51, of Gilroy, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, on Highway 156 west of Monterey Street at 2:11am on Sunday, police said.

Mark Henry Farve, 36, who lives in the 900 block of Prune Street in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, on Highway 25 south of Shore Road at 3:30am on Sunday, police said.

Mark William Mendez, 18, who lives in the 1800 block of Memorial Drive in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and receiving stolen property, felonies, at Hazel Hawkins Hospital at 7:42pm on Thursday, police said. Police said Mendez allegedly sold a stolen motorcycle to someone and he was arrested after he received minor injuries from a car accident and the officer at the scene recognized his name.

DRUNK IN PUBLIC:

Renato Ortega Mejia, 27, of 361 Primavera Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for being drunk in public, a misdemeanor, after he was found yelling while walking in the 700 block of San Benito Street at 2:45pm, police said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
