STOLEN VEHICLE: A 1966 black Chevrolet Chevelle was stolen from in front of Hollister resident Gary Geraci’s residence at 748 Fifth Street sometime between noon on Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday. The Hollister police have no suspects and no witnesses to the theft.

ASSAULT: Oscar Miranda, 19, who lives at 31 Almond Court in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for assaulting Jordan Tellef, 18, when the two men got into an argument at a party at 1078 Monterey St. on Friday night. Miranda punched Tellef and then kicked him in the head and upper body when he was on the ground, but Tellef refused medical care. Miranda was arrested Saturday when Hollister police did a follow up on the assault and he was booked into the San Benito County Jail.

RECKLESSLY EVADING PEACE OFFICER: Gustavo Solis Pasillas, 21, of 281 Felice Drive in Hollister, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies for recklessly evading a peace officer after leading them on a five-mile-long high-speed chase on Fairview Road around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, which ended when Pasillas’ vehicle did a 180-degree spin at the intersection of Highway 152 and 156 and crashed into a metal mailbox and post. Deputies attempted to pull Pasillas over when they saw him traveling at more than 100 mph on Fairview; he was attempting to evade deputies because he had an outstanding felony warrant.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: George Anthony Dias, 42, of P.O. Box 640 in San Juan Bautista, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at 11:15 p.m. for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, at Franklin Street west of Third Street in San Juan Bautista on Saturday.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Jose V. Sanchez, of 191 Elm St. in Hollister, was arrested for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level over .08, a misdemeanor, by the California Highway Patrol on Highway 25, north of Shore Road at 6:23 p.m. Sunday.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Adolfo N. Sandoval, of 1130 Oso Court in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .11 on Highway 101, north of Betabel Road at 11:51 p.m. Sunday.

FALSE IDENTIFICATION: Derrick Elvin Lenoir, 25, of 725 San Benito St. in Hollister, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies at 11:30 p.m. Thursday for falsely identifying himself, a felony, after a deputy saw him standing on the corner of Fourth and Locust streets and recognized him as having multiple felonious warrants. Lenoir was also found to be under the influence of methamphetamines, a misdemeanor.

THEFT: A full-sized Coca-Cola machine was stolen from Camacho Tires & Wheels Service at 896 Fourth St. and was reported to the Hollister police at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The police have no suspects at this time and the case is under investigation.

EXHIBITING A FIREARM: Carlos Alfredo Soliz, 44, of 207 Fifth St. in San Juan Bautista, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies for shooting off four rounds from an unidentified firearm in a threatening manner, a misdemeanor, and inflicting corporal injury in the form of internal emotional distress on his girlfriend, a felony, at 4:45 a.m. at the intersection of Second and Church streets in San Juan Bautista on Thursday. A verbal argument with his girlfriend prompted the incident.
