BURGLARY: Hollister police are looking for an unknown Hispanic male in his early 20s with a light complexion, who was wearing dark clothing when he broke into Star Nails on the 100 block of San Felipe Street around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and stole an undetermined amount of money, police said. The store’s owner lives nearby and noticed movement inside the shop, and when they checked on the business the suspect fled, police said. An investigation is pending.
UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: Carlos Argueta, 29, of 347 Hawkins St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for allegedly being under the influence of methamphetamine, a misdemeanor, after he was pulled over for a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Airline Highway at 1:42 a.m. on Tuesday.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Esperanza Maravilla, 32, who resides in the 600 block of Seventh St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for domestic violence, a felony, in the 300 block of Tres Pinos Road at 3:18 p.m. on Monday, after she allegedly struck a male she had relations with in the face, giving him a slight cut to his lip, police said.
FELONY VANDALISM: Jessica Francisca Duarte, 18, who resides in the 1300 block of Westside Blvd. in Hollister, was arrested at 2:15 p.m. on Monday by Hollister police on charges of felony vandalism after she got in a dispute with a neighbor and scratched her car, causing approximately $500 damage, police said.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: Jorge Enrique Torres, 36, of 1400 Highway 101 in Aromas, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, on Highway 156 at Monterey Street at 12:17 a.m. on Monday.
CAR THEFT: Two cars were stolen in front of a home on the 1200 block of South Street sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Sunday and 5 a.m. on Monday. Hollister police have no suspects, but are looking for a burgundy 1997 Kia Sophia and a tan 2002 Dodge Ram.
