DRUNK IN PUBLIC: A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested by Hollister police at the 7-11 convenience store at 9:12 p.m. on Wednesday for being drunk in public, resisting arrest and violation of probation. After lunging and verbally harassing the officer, the officer took the noticeably intoxicated juvenile to the ground, where he continued to resist, police said. The officer finally subdued the suspect with pepper spray and he was then transported to Hazel Hawkins Hospital, then booked into juvenile hall, police said.

BURGLARY: Unknown suspects stole a red, Univega men’s bicycle valued at $375 from the garage of a home in the 1300 block of Sawtooth Drive sometime between Monday and Wednesday.

SHOTS FIRED: Hollister police responded to a call of shots fired around Fremont School around 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday. A witness saw a green Geo Metro-type vehicle and a beige-colored Ford Bronco or Blazer parked near each other around the intersection of West and Third streets. Police said the witness saw a suspect in the Geo get out of the car and fire three shots at the Bronco, then get back in the car, drive away and was followed by the driver in the Bronco. Police recovered a 9 mm slug from the roadway.
