Assault with a deadly weapon:

Veronica Macedo Ponce, 29, of Watsonville, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies for assault with a deadly weapon, a felony, and being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after she collided head-on with a car with two San Benito County residents in it on Wright Road at 11:15am on Friday, police said. No one was injured in the collision, police said.

Possession of controlled substance for sale:

Eduardo S. Miranda, 26, of 221 Matulich Ct. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for possession of 1.41 grams of methamphetamine for sale and possession of a firearm, both felonies, possession of drug paraphernalia, evading police and resisting arrest, misdemeanors, after he was pulled over for a traffic stop at 40 San Felipe Rd. at 11:47pm on Friday, police said.

Driving under the influence:

Eric Art Tomasetti, 31, who lives in the 1600 block of El Camino De Vida St. in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on Fairview Road north of Lone Tree Road at 3:20am on Tuesday for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level above .08, a misdemeanor, possession of methamphetamine, a felony, and possession of a pipe, a misdemeanor, police said. Tomasetti was driving a 2004 Mercedes and tried to pass a tractor on Fairview Road, and when he realized he didn’t have enough room he pulled back behind the tractor and rear-ended it because he was going too fast, police said. The collision knocked the tractor off the road and into a ditch, but no one was injured, police said.

Cynthia Ann Baumgartner, 40, who lives in the 200 block of Acorn Ln. in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of approximately .16, a misdemeanor, on Highway 25, south of Shore Road at 12:25am on Monday, police said.

Gregory Scott Moeller, 40, who lives in the 1900 block of Sycamore Ct. in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP for driving under the influence and child endangerment, misdemeanors, because he had a child under the age of 14 in the car, at 1:50am on Shore Road at San Felipe Road on Friday, police said.

Maxmilliano A. Cortez, 41, who lives in the 500 block of Mansfield Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of approximately .12, a misdemeanor, at 12:15am on Highway 156, west of Highway 25 on Sunday, police said.

Jesus Figuroa, of 63 East St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence and driving without a license, misdemeanors, on Fifth Street at San Benito Street at midnight on Saturday, police said.

Domestic violence:

Jorge Ortiz, 30, of 10 Rustic St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at his residence at 2:42am on Saturday for domestic violence and damage of a telephone, both felonies, after he pulled the hair of a woman he has a relationship with, causing redness in her scalp area, and prohibited her from using the phone, police said. The woman did not seek medical attention, police said.

All people named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
