DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
Donald Bret Gibbs, 42, of Salinas, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of approximately .1, on Highway 101 south of Highway 129 at 9:20pm on Wednesday, police said.
POSSESSION OF CONCEALED WEAPON:
Gabriel Sandoval San Roman, 21, of 1211 Stephanie Ct. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for possession of a concealed illegal knife and violation of parole, felonies, and possession of a methamphetamine pipe, a misdemeanor, on Central Avenue near Ventura Court at 12:30am after police stopped him for riding a bike at night without a light and carrying an open container of beer, police said.
FELONY ARREST WARRANTS:
Michael David Reed, 47, of 1031 Steinbeck Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 1:45pm on Wednesday for two felony warrants – the first for assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment and the second for making terrorist threats, police said.
ARSON:
Unknown suspects lit a fire in a garbage can behind DeMaggio’s Cafe at 1709 Airline Highway around 7:40pm on Wednesday, causing minor damage, police said.
POSSESSION OF DRUGS FOR SALE:
Victor Noel Mata, 38, of 1321 Scenic Cr. in Hollister, was arrested by Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team agents for possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of dangerous weapons, willful cruelty to a child, and committing a felony while on bail, all felonies, at his home around 7:30am on Wednesday, police said.
Mata had been arrested on Aug. 26 by Hollister police for possession of 5.99 grams of methamphetamine and carrying two handguns in his car, and when UNET agents served a search warrant at his home they found a loaded handgun with no gun safety lock in the bedroom he shares with his 6-year-old daughter, methamphetamine pipes and a digital scale used to weigh meth, police said.
All persons named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
