STOLEN CAR:
A gold 1992 Buick LeSabre was stolen from the 20 block of Hawkins Street around 10:25am on Tuesday after a Hollister resident loaned the car to her boyfriend and he left town with the car and didn’t come back, police said.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
Sergio Sanchez, 29, of 600 B St. in Hollister, was arrested at his home at 5:32pm on Tuesday by Hollister police for domestic violence, a felony, after he punched a woman he has a relationship with in the face with his fist, leaving bruises and redness on her chin, police said. The woman was not taken to the hospital, police said.
Michael Wayne Varney, 38, of 1170 Sunnyslope Rd. in Hollister, was arrested at his home at 7:45pm on Tuesday by Hollister police for domestic violence, a felony, after he choked a woman he has a relationship with during an argument, leaving redness on her throat, police said. The woman was not taken to the hospital, police said.
All persons named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
