Auto theft

A 1987 Cadillac coupe was stolen from Third and McCray streets in Hollister between 7am and 7:30am Thursday, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.

A 2000 Ford Focus was stolen from in front of an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Valley View Road in Hollister between 12:30am and 10:26am Sunday, police said. There are no suspects.

Vandalism

A sign at the Urgent Care Center on McCray Street in Hollister was spray painted with orange letters reading ‘FNF’ between 9pm Thursday and noon Friday, police said. There are no suspects.

A vehicle’s window was broken in the first block of Rustic Street in Hollister between 3:30am and 4:16am Saturday, police said. There are no suspects.

Robbery

Neighborhood Pizza on Tres Pinos Road in Hollister was robbed at knifepoint at 11:50pm Saturday, police said. A man wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt, gray sweat pants and a black nylon stocking cap entered the restaurant’s front door and demanded money, police said. After an employee emptied the cash register, the man left through the building’s back door, police said. Police described the robber as a caucasian man, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and 175 pounds.

Vehicle Burglary

A 1992 Toyota Camry parked in the 800 block of East Street in Hollister was broken into between 3am and 4am Sunday, police said. An Alpine car stereo worth $200 was taken, along with men’s clothing and miscellaneous papers, police said. There are no suspects.

Arrests

Domestic violence

Jennifer Zamora, 21, of Hollister, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of domestic violence, a felony, after officers responded to a domestic disturbance in Hollister at 5am Saturday, police said. Zamora allegedly hit a man with a beer bottle, police said.

Driving under the influence

Miguel Vicencio Torres, 51, of the 900 block of Nash Road in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, and hit and run, both misdemeanors, after an accident 900 block of Del Rio Court in Hollister at 1:10am Saturday, police said.

Raymond Anthony Smith, 24, of the 17600 block of Dewitt Avenue in Morgan Hill, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers stopped him on northbound Highway 25 south of Shore Road at 9:34pm Friday, according to the CHP.

Andres Flores-Gonzalez, 29, of the 800 block of Canal Alley in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers stopped him on northbound Highway 25 north of Highway 156 at 1:25am Sunday, according to the CHP.

Battery

Luis Gonzalez-Rios, 27, of Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of battery, a misdemeanor, after he hit a man on the right side of his face at 8pm Saturday in Hollister, deputies said.

Drugs

Mack Gitmed, 32, of the 700 block of La Baig Drive in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, after an officer pulled him over on McCloskey Road in Hollister at 7:55pm Saturday, police said.

Joseph Grimaldo, 42, of the 1400 block of Santa Ana Road in Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of drug possession, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, after deputies pulled him over at Fifth and Powell streets in Hollister at 11:41pm Saturday, deputies said. Grimaldo was allegedly in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a smoking pipe, deputies said.

John Rafael Destefanis, 32, of the first block of Velair Drive in Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of drug possession, a felony, and being under the influence of drugs, a misdemeanor, after deputies received a call that a man was yelling in the 1100 block of Crescent Lane in Hollister at 3:18pm Sunday, deputies said.

Reckless driving

Edward Ernest Salcedo, 46, of the 400 block of Bridgevale Road in Hollister, was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of reckless driving and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, after failing to yield at three stop signs and not putting his hands up after being pulled over on Miller Road in Hollister at 6:59pm Saturday, deputies said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
