Possession of an illegal weapon
Jason Lewis Miller, 31, of Hollister, was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Department on suspicion of possessing an illegal weapon, a felony, when he was found asleep in a vehicle in the parking lot of Dunneville Restaurant at San Felipe Road and Shore Road at 11:26pm Friday, deputies said. Miller was found to be in possession of a modified billy club, deputies said.
Domestic violence
Javier Torres Ponce, 53, of Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, damaging a telephone line and willfully harming a child, all felonies, after police received a domestic disturbance call at 10:30pm Saturday, deputies said. Ponce is accused of hitting a woman on the head with a broom and throwing a telephone on the ground in the presence of children, deputies said.
Drunken driving
Antonio Aguilar, 25, of the 1200 block of Osborne Circle in Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of driving under the influence and evading a peace officer with a vehicle, both of which are misdemeanors, after a deputy attempted to pull him over on Airline Highway at 7:38pm Saturday, deputies said. Aguilar did not pull over and the deputy briefly lost him, deputies said. The deputy searched the area and found Aguilar on foot at Paseo Drive and Hillcrest Road, deputies said.
Threatening
George Lopez Munoz, 55, of San Juan Bautista, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of threatening a crime, a felony, and drawing an imitation firearm in a threatening manner, a misdemeanor, after deputies received a call that he had threatened a man and a woman with a fake gun at 10:34pm Saturday, deputies said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
