Police blotter: Several drunk in public tickets issued

Just after 7 p.m. Tuesday between Nash Road and Westside
Boulevard, after responding to a call in the neighborhood, officers
discovered their patrol vehicle was vandalized with a five-inch
scratch running around the backside of the car. No suspect
information at this time.
Vandalism, Nash Road

Burglary, Vallejo Drive

Around midnight Tuesday near Vallejo Drive, police stopped a man who was acting suspicious. After searching the man, police discovered stolen items, including bank statements, from a house that was broken into.

Car theft, Hillcrest Road

A vehicle was reported stolen Wednesday night between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. in the 1300 block of Hillcrest Road. The suspect used a credit card that was found in the car at a restaurant in Gilroy before being arrested Thursday in the Save Mart parking lot.

Trespassing, Airline Highway

Around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, police reported to a man begging for money in the Safeway lobby. The man was cited, warned and released.

Vandalism, Poplar Court

At around noon Thursday, police discovered graffiti covering a fence and sidewalk between Park View and Poplar courts. No suspect information at this time.

Burglary, Rancho Drive

At the 1200 block of Rancho Drive, a woman reported jewelry stolen Thursday after discovering it missing for nearly two months. No suspect information at this time.

Attempted vehicle theft, San Benito Street

At around 8 a.m. Thursday near the 1000 block of San Benito Street, police responded to a call when a person recognized a person who stole his or her car earlier this year. The man was searched and was found with stolen items from a car nearby.

Robbery, Nash Road

In the intersection of Nash Road and Prune Street around 2 p.m. Thursday, police reported a man was surround by six or seven juveniles, who threatened with a knife when they asked for his iPod. The juveniles took the iPod and fled. Police are still investigating.

Battery, Valley View Road

Near the 1500 block of Valley View Road 2:00 a.m. Friday, police responded when a man was attacked near his home. Walking from his car to his door, 12 suspects attacked the man, who ran inside. Police are still investigating.
