Around 1 a.m. on Friday, a 38-year-old Hollister man was
arrested for obstruction on the 900 block of San Benito Street
after his wife was being arrested for driving under the influence.
The suspect became belligerent that his wife was being arrested, so
he began to threaten officers.
ARRESTS

Robbery, McCray Street

At 7:19 p.m. on Thursday, a 16-year-old Hollister male juvenile was arrested for robbery at Save Mart on the 200 block of McCray Street. Police said that four suspects entered the store to steal beer. One worked as a lookout while two others took beer. Police were unsure of the role of the fourth suspect. Security noticed the suspects taking the beer and confronted them. The arrested suspect fought with security before being detained. Police arrived, arrested the suspect and booked him into juvenile hall. The lookout suspect was cited and released on conspiracy and robbery charges. The other two remain at large.

Obstruction, San Benito Street

Around 1 a.m. on Friday, a 38-year-old Hollister man was arrested for obstruction on the 900 block of San Benito Street after his wife was being arrested for driving under the influence. The suspect became belligerent that his wife was being arrested, so he began to threaten officers. He began walking toward officers in an agitated state like he wanted to hurt them. The suspect was then tased by police. After being medically cleared, he was arrested and booked into the county jail. His wife, a 38-year-old Hollister resident, was arrested and booked for DUI.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

Vehicle theft, Sunset Drive

At 3:30 p.m. on June 8, police received a report of a stolen trailer from outside of Hazel Hawkins Hospital on the 900 block of Sunset Drive. Police report that the construction crew left a trailer on the street and the next it was gone. No suspect information was available.

Annoying phone calls, Glenview Court

At 6 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of repeated harassing phone calls to a residence on the 2500 block of Glenview Court, ongoing since May. The victim reports that he has been getting repeated phone calls where the other person hangs up the phone. He advised police that the suspect is a 24-year-old Hollister resident, who is the mother of his children. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

Unreasonable noise, Nash Road

At 1:24 a.m. on Saturday, a neighbor performed a citizen’s arrest on a neighbor for having a party with excessive noise on the 800 block of Nash Road. The suspect, a 31-year-old Hollister female, was cited and released by police. The case was also forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

Offensive words, Santa Ana Road

At 11:07 a.m. on Saturday, a victim was threatened in the area of Santa Ana Road. The victim went to pick up his son at school when he was threatened by his ex-wife’s boyfriend, a 49-year-old San Juan Bautista man. During the verbal altercation, the suspect said he would beat up and kill the victim. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

Vandalism, Osborne Court

At 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, police found an abandoned residence to be vandalized with graffiti on the 2100 block of Osborne Circle. No suspect information was available.
