Burglary

Burglars smashed the window of BCT Hobby and Crafts on McCray Street in Hollister and stole two remote control cars between 5pm Sunday and 7:51am Tuesday, police said. The Hollister Police Department estimated the items to be worth approximately $500. There are no suspects.

Burglars smashed the window of a car in a parking lot in the 900 block of Sunnyslope Road in Hollister and stole a medical bag containing medical equipment between 7am and 8am Jan. 12, police said. Police estimated the items to be worth approximately $800. There are no suspects.

Arrests

Jason Allen Johnson, 28, of Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of battery, a misdemeanor; burglary, a felony; and vandalism, a misdemeanor, after police received a call that he had kicked in the door of a home in the 500 block of South Street at 1pm Tuesday, police said. Johnson punched the resident in the arm and neck, police said. Johnson was arrested in the 400 block of South Street shortly after the report, police said.

Richard Alexander Arreaga, 19, of Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of burglary, a felony; false identification to a police officer, a misdemeanor; and possessing burglary tools, a misdemeanor, after police received a call of a prowler in the 1100 block of Meridian Street at 11:38pm Tuesday, police said. Arreaga had burglarized a vehicle in the 1000 block of Meridian, police said. Two residents in the 1100 block of Meridian Street watched Arreaga as he attempted to burglarize another vehicle, police said. Officers arrived and arrested Arreaga, police said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
