n Vandals broke the windshield and scratched and dented the body of a 1995 Mitsubishi in the first block of Rustic Street in Hollister between 10pm Jan. 10 and 8am Jan 11, according to the Hollister Police Department. Police estimated damage to be more than $400. There are no suspects.
n Burglars broke into a pet store in the 700 block of San Benito Street in Hollister between 7:15pm Friday and 10:47am Saturday, police said. Burglars took $100 cash and a credit card machine, police said. There are no suspects.
n A burglar attempted to break into a home in the 900 block of West Street in Hollister at 6:10pm Sunday, police said. The burglar fled the scene before police could arrive. There are no suspects.
Arrests:
n Felipe Juarez Sanchez, 48, of the 200 block of Teresita Court in Hollister, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after he hit several parked cars in the 300 block of San Felipe Road at 6:59pm Saturday, police said. Sanchez was driving at an unsafe speed southbound on San Felipe road when he lost control of his car and jumped the median, crossing over and hitting seven cars in the San Felipe Office Park parking lot, police said.
n Vicente Paredes, 55, of the 1200 block of Suiter Street in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor; a hit and run, a misdemeanor; and driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor; at the intersection of Nash Road and Suiter Street at 11:22pm Friday, according to the CHP. Paredes was involved in a crash at the intersection of Highway 156 and Union Road, according to the CHP. Paredes fled toward home but was stopped before he made it, according to the CHP.
n Chapa Ramiro, 42, of the 200 block of Westside Boulevard in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop on Highway 156 west of Highway 25 at 7:40pm Friday, according to the CHP.
n Calvin Jay Martinez, 23, of the 17000 block of Murphy Avenue in Morgan Hill, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a San Benito County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped him at the intersection of San Juan Highway and San Justo Road and turned him over to the CHP at 10:22am Saturday, according to the CHP.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
