Vandalism
The back window of a Chevrolet Tahoe was smashed at about 12:30am June 8 in the 2400 block of Valley View Road in Hollister, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.
A vehicle was hit with a baseball bat at about 3:19am Sunday in the 800 block of Hillcrest Road in Hollister, police said. There are no suspects.
Grand Theft
A car stereo and several amplifiers were stolen from a garage at about 3:30pm Sunday in the 500 block of B Street, police said. The equipment was valued at $500, police said. There are no suspects.
The windows of a GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade were smashed with a rock at about 11pm Saturday in the 300 block of Haydon Street in Hollister, police said. It was agreed that charges will be filed if the suspect does not pay for the damage, police said.
Arrests
Burglary
A 34-year-old Hollister man was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of burglary, a felony, after officers responded to a call at 7:30pm Friday in the 900 block of Del Rio Drive, police said. A man had attempted to break into a home, police said.
Battery and Burglary
A 22-year-old Hollister woman was arrested by police on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury and burglary, both felonies, after officers responded to a disturbance call at 1:47am Saturday in the 1200 block of Sunnyslope Road, police said. A woman was banging on the door of a home and then entered through a window and began slapping a man, police said. The man was slapped about 15 times, and suffered a bloody nose and a deep bite mark on his arm, police said.
Driving Under the Influence
A 33-year-old Hollister man was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving without a license, both misdemeanors, after being stopped at 12:35am Sunday on Airline Highway south of Fairview Road in Hollister, according to the CHP.
A 19-year-old Hollister man was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after San Benito County sheriff’s deputies stopped him at 2:03am Saturday at the intersection of San Benito and Third streets in Hollister, according to the CHP.
A 20-year-old Hollister man was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence and false identification to a peace officer, both misdemeanors, after San Benito County sheriff’s deputies stopped him at 1:09am Saturday at the intersection of Sally and Sixth streets in Hollister, according to the CHP.
Public Intoxication
A 28-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of public intoxication, a misdemeanor, after officers responded to a call at about 3am Monday in the 900 block of Nash Road in Hollister, police said.
