At 9:38 p.m. on June 22, a victim was hit over the head with a
motorcycle mirror on the 1300 block of Matador Drive.
ARRESTS

Obstruction, Verdun Avenue

At 12:37 p.m. on Thursday, officers attempted to contact a Hollister juvenile runaway with a warrant out for his arrest on Sunnyslope Road. The suspect fled on foot headed east on Sunnyslope Road until police caught up with him on the 700 block of Verdun Avenue. He was arrested, charged with the warrant and fleeing from officers and booked into juvenile hall.

Possession of a narcotic, Hawkins Street

At 11 p.m. on Sunday, a 45-year-old Hollister resident was pulled over by police for a routine traffic stop. The suspect was found to be on parole. Upon searching the car, Police found narcotics. The suspect was arrested and booked into the county jail.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

Battery with serious bodily injury, Matador Drive

At 9:38 p.m. on June 22, a victim was hit over the head with a motorcycle mirror on the 1300 block of Matador Drive. Police said the suspect went over to the victim’s house because of a vehicle that had been sold. The victim suffered a laceration on the top of his head. The case has been referred to the district attorney’s office.

Assault with a deadly weapon, Westside Boulevard

At 7:13 p.m. on Saturday, a victim was walking westbound on South Street when an unknown suspect came up behind him with a river rock and threw it at him. The rock hit the victim in the back and the suspect ran off on foot. Police said the incident is possibly gang related and no suspect information was available.

Vehicle theft, Monterey Street

At 8 p.m. on Friday, a truck was stolen from the driveway of a residence on the 1000 block of Monterey Street. No suspect information was available.

Open container, East Street

At 8:23 p.m. on Thursday, a 24-year-old Hollister man was found to be in possession of an open container in the area of East Street and Hawkins Street. The suspect was cited and released.

Reckless driving, Airline Highway

At 1:18 p.m. on Friday, an officer in an unmarked police car observed two cars racing on the 1700 block of Airline Highway. The officer stopped one of the vehicles, and cited the driver for reckless driving and released him.
