Burglaries

Burglars entered a home through an unlocked garage door in the 900 block of Sally Street at about 6:30pm Sunday, the Hollister Police Department said. Burglars took a computer worth $1,700 and a garage door remote, police said. There are no suspects.

Battery and Burglary

Selena Ayala, 19, and Nicole Baxter, 24, both of the 1500 block of Valley View Road, were arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of burglary, a felony; conspiracy, a felony; and battery, a misdemeanor; after officers responded to a fight in the parking lot of K-Mart on Tres Pinos Road in Hollister at 8:44pm Monday, police said. Ayala had allegedly taken store items in her purse, police said. When a security guard confronted the women, Baxter, who is 34 weeks pregnant, allegedly pushed the man with one hand and began swinging at him, police said. Ayala allegedly pushed the security guard and Baxter allegedly punched him in the mouth, cutting his lip, police said.

Driving under the influence

Michael Anthony Armendariz, 45, of the 400 block of Mary Drive in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after San Benito County sheriff’s deputies turned him over to CHP officers on Hawkins Street east of Prune Street at 1:01am Tuesday, according to the CHP.

Michael Stewart Smith, 32, of the 300 block of Merrill Road in San Juan Bautista, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; and driving on a suspended license, a misdemeanor; after a traffic stop at Miller Road and San Juan Road in Hollister at 10:23am Tuesday, according to the CHP.

Jeffrey Roger Lorono Jr., 19, of the 400 block in Pike Way in Salinas, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop on northbound Highway 101 north of Highway 129 at 4pm Tuesday, according to the CHP.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
