Vandalism

A door was stolen and a window broken in the laundry room of an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Carmela Court in Hollister at about midnight May 1, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.

Electrical boxes were spray painted with gang graffiti on Airline Highway and Union Road in Hollister at about 12:30pm Sunday, police said. The boxes were marked with ‘Norte’ and ‘X4,’ both associated with the Norteño street gang, police said. There are no suspects.

Burglary

Intruders broke a bathroom window to gain entry to a home in the 1300 block of Triests Drive in Hollister between 8pm Saturday and 9:05am Sunday, police said. Credit cards and $100 in cash were taken, police said. There are no suspects.

Arrests

Fake checks

Elizabeth Silva, 30, of the 400 block of The Alameda in San Juan Bautista, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of passing a fictitious check, a felony, at Safeway on Tres Pinos Road in Hollister at 2:05pm Friday, police said.

Drunk in public

Leslie Steven Arballo, 53, of the 100 block of Santa Ana Road in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of being drunk in public, a misdemeanor, at midnight Sunday at Third and Sally streets in Hollister, police said.

Domestic violence

Desiree Ann Parsons, 28, of Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of domestic violence, a felony, after responding to a domestic disturbance call at 2:15am Monday, police said. A man had been hit and bitten, police said.

Driving under the influence

Jeffrey Curtis Sanchez, 24, of the 1100 block of Cedar Drive in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Street in Hollister at 12:11am Saturday, police said.

Sebastian Hernandez Castaneda, 21, of the 200 block of Western Court in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a crash in the 100 block of Locust Avenue in Hollister at 9:51pm Saturday, police said.

Moises Portillo, 34, of the first block of Plumtree Drive in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop in the 100 block of Fourth Street in Hollister at 1:57am Sunday, police said.

Mark Sotelo, 44, of the 800 block of Morningside Circle in Gilroy, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license, both misdemeanors, after a traffic stop on Highway 25 south of Shore Road at 3:50am Sunday, according to the CHP.

Jose Luis Medina Chavez, 42, of the 1000 block of Homestead Avenue in Hollister, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after San Benito County Sheriff’s Office deputies turned him over to officers on East and Seventh streets in Hollister at 2:20am Sunday, according to the CHP.

Dennis Michael Guevara, 43, of the 400 block of San Juan-Hollister Road in San Juan Bautista, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a crash on Highway 156 and San Juan-Hollister Road at 5:58pm Sunday, according to the CHP.

Sex offender

Pedro Rico, 29, of the 300 block of Rustic Street in Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender, a misdemeanor, in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Hollister at 10:20am Friday, deputies said.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
