Hollister police officers early Sunday morning caught two burglars while the suspects were on their way out of the downtown Metropolis store carrying stolen goods, according to Hollister police Sgt. David Westrick.
Police responded at 1:55 a.m. to a burglar alarm at the store in the 700 block of San Benito Street and upon arrival heard voices inside the business, Westrick said. They requested back-up to make sure all the exits were covered and, when the two suspects walked out, police arrested them.
The two men were Armando Marron, 21, of Hollister and Foster Davila, Jr., 19, of Hollister.
Police arrested them without incident when they left the store, Westrick said. They ransacked the business, broke several glass shelves, damaged the cash register and stole items that included smoking paraphernalia, various movies and tattoo equipment, police alleged.
The two men were booked into the San Benito County Jail on recommended charges of commercial burglary.
