HOLLISTER

Hollister police found a 26-year-old Hollister man stabbed Saturday with the weapon still lodged in his back, while the resident is expected to survive, according to a statement released today by the Hollister Police Department.

Officers responded to the 100 block of Locust Street at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday to a reported fight and found the victim with a single stab wound and the knife lodged in his back. He was airlifted to a Bay Area hospital, according to the statement.

All the others involved in the suspected fight fled the scene, and police found the victim’s car nearby with the rear window smashed out, the statement reads.

A follow-up investigation is under way. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 636-4330 or WeTIP at (800) 78 CRIME.
