Hollister – Police reported three incidents involving Hollister teens and unlawful sex acts over the weekend – arresting one teen for statutory rape, according to the Hollister Police Department.

Victor Reyes, 18, was arrested on Saturday around 2:30pm for having sex with a 15-year-old female after police responded to his home in the 1200 block of Rancho Drive for a domestic dispute, said Capt. Richard Vasquez.

Reyes called police because his 15-year-old girlfriend, who he had been dating since she was 13, was trying to kick down doors in the house and refused to leave the residence, Vasquez said.

However, when police arrived and took the girl’s statement, she told them the two had been dating for two years and had been involved in a sexual relationship for the same amount of time, he said.

“During the conversation she came up with this other statement, so we arrested him on the statement,” Vasquez said.

Vasquez said the girl’s parents were aware of the relationship, but Reyes was arrested with the felony charge anyway. A felony conviction for unlawful sex with a minor who is more than three years younger than himself could land Reyes in the county jail for up to a year, according to the state penal code.

Reyes is being held at the San Benito County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Police also forwarded a report of a possible child molestation to the District Attorney’s Office involving another Hollister teen Friday. A 17-year-old female reported her brother had been watching her in the bathroom, going through her underwear drawer and following her around for the past two years. Her brother, a 19-year-old Hollister male, is not being named because he has not been arrested or charged with a crime of annoying or molesting a child.

Police are also investigating claims a 15-year-old Hollister girl made against a 16-year-old boy for sexual battery, Vasquez said.

The girl has yet to press charges, but claims the San Benito High School sophomore inappropriately touched her, harassed her and threatened her if she told authorities about the incidents, Vasquez said.
