Hollister police made arrests in two separate, suspected robbery incidents over the weekend.
The two incidents involved 18-year-old suspects. One of the suspected robberies occurred at a local Shell Station, while another was at Calaveras School, according to the Hollister Police Department.
Police arrested 18-year-old Anysa Lopez in connection with the Shell incident and arrested another 17-year-old as well. Police arrested 18-year-old Russell Enz in connection with the school robbery, according to the HPD.
According to the statements:
Hollister Police Department officers responded to Dunne Park regarding a strong arm robbery that possibly occurred at this location. Officers located possible involved persons at the park after hours and detained them.
Officers contacted the victim, who was being treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained during his assault. Officers learned that the victim in this incident was walking behind Shell Gas Station when a group of people approached him and began to attack him. During the attack the suspects removed the victim’s property and yelled out gang slurs.
Anyssa Lopez (18) and a 17 year old juvenile were identified as two of the three attackers during this incident, through the investigation. The juvenile was also found in possession of a concealed dirk or dagger.
Officers located some of the victim’s property in the possession of Lopez and the 17 year old juvenile. Both were taken into custody without incident.
Lopez was booked into the San Benito County Jail for the charge of 211 PC-Robbery and the 17 year old juvenile was booked into the San Benito County Juvenile Hall under the charge of 211 PC-Robbery and 21310 PC-Possession of a concealed dirk or dagger.

In the other incident, the robbery at Calaveras occurred Saturday night.
According to the police statement:
at about 1840 hours, Hollister Police Department officers responded to Calaveras School regarding an armed robbery. Officer’s contacted two 13 year old victims who reported being held at gun point and ordered to the ground by a white slender male subject with long hair and wearing a black hooded jacket. Officers learned that the suspect took one of the victim’s wallets and released them. The suspect then noticed the victim’s wallet did not contain a large amount of cash. The suspect started to chase down the victims. The victims ran and got away from the suspect.
Officers while investigating a second robbery of the night came into contact with Russell Enz (18). Enz matched the description provided by the victims and Enz was positively identified.
Enz was taken into custody and during a search of his person, property from the victim’s wallet was located in Enz possession. Enz was booked into the San Benito County Jail for the charge of 211 PC-Robbery.
