Hollister police Friday reported there had been rumors of a bomb threat at San Benito High School, and that it’s been ruled as non-credible.
According to a police announcement:
The Hollister Police Department received a report of a comment made yesterday at the San Benito High School. That comment was allegedly a threat against the school and possibly other students.
High School Staff and Officers from the Hollister Police Department have been investigating the incident all morning. Officers and school staff have spoken to the parties involved as witnesses and the person who allegedly made the comments. The investigation has not revealed any credible threats against students or staff.
Rumors have spread throughout the city and other schools about a bomb threat at the High School or other schools. There has not been any lockdown or any credible threat to the students and The Police Department would like to ask parents to remain calm.
Although the High School and the Police Department take all threats seriously, this incident does not appear to be a credible threat. The school is operating normally and the students are taking their finals. There is no need for parents to respond to the school.
If there are any changes or updates, an additional alert will be sent out.
