The San Benito High girls volleyball team earned the No. 2 seed in the Central Coast Section Division I tournament.

The Central Coast Section playoffs start this week in the following fall sports: boys and girls water polo, boys and girls cross country and girls tennis. San Benito High’s volleyball team, which finished the regular season with a 29-6 record and won the Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division championship, earned the No. 2 seed in the Division I bracket and plays host to the winner of No. 7 Palo Alto (23-12)-No. 10 Sequoia-Redwood City (14-15) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Haybalers girls water polo team (14-8) is the No. 9 seed in the Division I bracket and plays a first-round match against No. 12 Lincoln-San Jose (8-13) Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Sobrato High. San Benito’s cross-country program will be competing in the CCS Championships on Saturday at the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont. The Division I girls race starts at 11:10 a.m. and the boys follow with an 11:45 a.m. start time. Anzar’s boys team advanced and competes in the Division V race at 10:35 a.m.
