Potholes galore on Third Street

The City of Hollister keeps a long list of potholes to fix weekly when crews go out on Fridays to do the work. Well, they’ve also got a long line of former and current potholes forming along a short stretch on Third Street near the intersection of McCray Street.

This particular road, however, isn’t new to The Weekend Pinnacle’s Public Works feature, as just up the way remains that ever-troubled railroad crossing owned by Union Pacific – the one near East Street and Hollister Super Market that feels more like riding the incline on the Giant Dipper than it does a public thoroughfare.

The perennially slow-to-the-problem U.P. may be taking its time on the crossing, but it looks as though city officials have had a close eye on a series of potholes that have cropped up around the current giant dipper impeding traffic.

There are four potholes around the most recent puddle in waiting that have been filled to this point.

Though city street officials could not be reached immediately for this week’s feature, we encourage them to continue the fix-ups on Third Street and fill the enormous pothole there before it gets worse.
