Ramona H. DeAnda passed away in San Francisco. She was born in Madrid, New Mexico and came to San Juan Bautista in 1950. She lived in Madera since 1990. She was a member of Mission San Juan Bautista parish and she is preceded in death by her husband, Cayetano, who died in 2003. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Efren DeAnda (Paula) of Gustine, Cayetano DeAnda, Jr. of San Jose, Rosie Cortez (Salvador) of San Juan Bautista, Jesse DeAnda of Fresno, Johnny DeAnda of San Jose, Pauline DeAnda of Madera, Margie Rubio (Mark) of Salinas, Ramona DeAnda of Fresno, Patricia Pasillas (Abel Carrillo) of Tracy, Anna Ramos of Gilroy, Lisa Lechuga (Robert) of Hollister, Trini DeAnda (Denise Soria) of Madera and Lorraine Hernandez (Ralph) of Merced, and Tony DeAnda (Lorraine) of Tracy, her brother, Joe Herrera of Newark and her cousin, Mary Lupe Cantu of Hollister. She is also survived by her 62 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Eddie DeAnda who died in 2002.

She worked as a farm laborer while raising 15 children. She loved music and singing and was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved all of them so much and was loved so much by her children and grandchildren. She made 5 dozen homemade tortillas for each meal that the family sat down to enjoy together.

Friends can pay their respects on Monday, Jan. 28th from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Mass will be on Tues. Jan. 29th at 10:00 A.M. at Old Mission San Juan Bautista. Interment will follow the Mass at San Juan District Cemetery. Friends can meet at the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. on Tues. for a procession to the church.
