Love can sometimes be hard to find, but if you’re lucky it will find you. It happened to be the summer of 2003 a little over 10 years ago. I had just graduated from college and was working at Macy’s when someone new started in my department. We had said “hello” and seemed to have an instant connection and we quickly became friends. We enjoyed spending so much time together we didn’t even realize that we were together sharing every day.
Falling in love can be tricky, but for us it seemed so natural; no work, no stress, just a beautiful, loving friendship that soon turned romantic. It became so romantic and sweet that first year we were together. Every month on the same day I would receive a little love note from him. It might seem a bit old fashioned in a way, but it melted my heart and I knew love had found me.
Years had passed and he proposed in 2007 at our annual Christmas party. The excitement was shared with about 15 of our closest friends. I had no idea. I was completely shocked and super excited as my sister video taped the whole thing.
We married in 2009 and what a fun celebration that was with all of our family and friends.
As any relationship, we have had our ups and downs, our good days and bad days, but in all the years we still feel exactly the same as we did the first day we met. We feel completely blessed, happy and so very lucky that love found us and brought us together all those years ago.
