Ressa Oletta Edwards, died on September 22, 2009, in Morgan Hill where she has resided for 30 years. She was 97. Ressa was born on December 9, 1911 in Fairland, OK.

Ressa was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Morgan Hill (now known as Crossroads Christian Center). She regularly volunteered to help with their “People that Care” program, providing food for those in need. One of her greatest joys was helping others. She worked in the Senior Citizens’ Brown Bag program, until she was nearly 90.

She is survived by her children, Oletta Beach of San Jose, John Edwards, Jr. and Ruth Erb, both of Morgan Hill, grandchildren, Connie Richards of Battleground, WA, Pam McCoy of Nampa, ID, Cheryl Hill of San Jose, Ashley Edwards of Gilroy, Theresa Cox, Jerry Hall, Carrie Trujillo and Linda Banuelos all of Morgan Hill, 18 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service begins at 2:00 P.M. at the Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy. Private burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Morgan Hill.
