Resident of Hayward
Richard (Dick) Bracamonte Perez, Jan. 20, 1922 – March 2, 2010, age 88, was the son of Jesus and Anita Perez, and husband of Cruz Lopez Perez. Richard joins his brothers, sisters, daughter Vivian Cunniffe, and son-in-law Richard Garcia in heaven.
He is survived by his loving wife, three children, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: his eldest daughter Vivian Cunniffe’s children, Ed Cunniffe III with his wife China and their children Dylan and Vivian, Mitchell Cunniffe, and Erin Cunniffe with her fiance Matt Slavnik; daughter Lorraine Garcia, her children Christine Kubik with her husband Mark and their son Leo, Matthew Garcia, Glenn Mack Heywood, Nicholas Garcia, Jaclyn Garcia; daughter Linda Perez Kelly with her husband Stan, their children, Jennifer Kelly Tramel with her husband John and their children Sophia and Cadence, Heather Kelly and Sean Kelly; son Richard Perez Jr. with his wife Cindy, their children, Nicole Benton with her husband Tim, Sarah Perez and Lexie Perez. Richard also leaves a multitude of nieces and nephews along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
Richard and Cruz enjoyed 63 years of marriage, most of them spent in Hayward, California. A World War II Veteran, he fulfilled his dream of serving our country in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at the Oakland Airport and Hayward Airport, and retired from the Alameda Naval Air Station. He was often recognized for his accomplishments throughout his career. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, going to the Oakland A’s baseball games, and going on walks.
Richard will truly be missed by all who have known him. Viewing will be held at Holy Sepulchre, Holy Angels Chapel, 1051 Harder Rd., Hayward, CA, (510) 537-6600, Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 4:00pm – 8:30pm, with the Rosary at 6:30pm and a Vigil at 7:00pm. Additional viewing on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 9:00am-10:00am. Immediately following, Mass will be held at St. Bedes, 26910 Patrick Avenue, Hayward, CA on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:00 am.
