Robert “Bob” John Donnelly Sr. passed away September 5, 2011 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, CA.
He succumbed to a short cancer related illness peacefully with his family at his side. Robert was born to Frank and Margaret Donnelly in Paterson, NJ on September 9, 1934.
He later moved to the Salinas area in 1945. He graduated from Salinas Union High School then served in the United Sates Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. Robert wore many hats during his working life while raising five children.
Most roles were electronic and supervisory related. He served as a Deputy for the San Benito County Sheriffs Department from 1972 to 1978. He retired as a Government Quality Inspector for the local bay area in 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Margaret Donnelly, Step Mother Pauline Donnelly and sister Lynn Hochkeppel. He is survived by daughter Pamela Bailey (Doug) of Seattle, WA, sons Robert Jr., Randy, Ron Donnelly (Gina), and daughter Rhonda DeVincenzi (Joseph) of Hollister, CA, grandchildren Brianna and Justin Bailey, Dustin and Gillian Menzel, Amber, Aurora, Shawn, Trenton, Kevin, and Ana Maria Donnelly, great-grandchildren Austin and Arianna Mikkelsen, and Asher and McKinley Menzel. He is also survived by nieces Laura Hochkeppel Gutwein and Kara Hochkeppel Shaylor.
