Long-time Hollister resident
Long-time Hollister resident Robert A. Canez died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas. He was 72.
Mr. Canez was born in Glendale, Ariz. and had lived in Hollister for 40 years. He worked for San Benito Foods and the City of Hollister and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 890.
He is survived by his wife of more than 39 years, Sadie Canez of Hollister; his children, Isabel Alvidrez, Rita Canez, Theresa Canez, Albert Canez and Christina Cortez, all of Hollister, Sarah Canez of San Jose and Richard Canez, Barbara Falco and Michael Canez, all of Arizona; his brothers and sisters, Manuel Canez of Hollister, Cruz Warden and Cora Carino, both of San Jose, and Jesse Canez of Arizona; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be after noon Sunday at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
