Hollister resident
Robert E. “Bob” McDonald died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at St. Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy after a lengthy illness. He was 75 and the last child of five sons and a daughter in his family.

Mr. McDonald was born in Minnesota and moved to Hollister from Carmichael in June 1968. and worked in the quality assurance department at Teledyne McCormick Selph for about 25 years before retiring in 1992.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1945-47 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and many local organizations including BPOE 1436 of Hollister, where he was Exalted Ruler. He enjoyed playing golf and camping.

He is survived by his children, Pamela Dore of Hollister, Steven McDonald of Santa Cruz and Eric McDonald and his wife, Shelly, of El Cerrito; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mass will be offered Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, followed by memorial services by the Hollister Elks Lodge at the church. Inurnment will follow at St. Benedict Columbarium.

Officers and members of the Hollister Elks Lodge are requested to be at St. Benedict Church at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home and Crematory.

Memorials are preferred to the American Lung Association.
