Bob passed peacefully in his sleep. Bob was a native of San Francisco.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Tim T. Kelly and Nora H. Kelly and siblings Tim T. Kelly, Mary J. Kelly, John P. Kelly and Geraldine N. Young.

To all the warm friendships along the way, from Navy buddies to Wine Country, Avalon in Sonoma and Village Green in Gilroy, he will be missed.

Bob was a U.S. Navy seaman fro 15 years and loved to travel the world.

He served in World War II and the Korean War as a Chief Boilerhouse Operator aboard the USS Algol, USS Nields DD-616 and USS Navasota.

He loved to fish from his boat in S.F. bay with nephews and brothers.

He enjoyed woodcrafting, TV shows (Cops, Court TV, News and History).

He faithfully followed the SF Giants and SF 49’ers for many long years.

Bob always enjoyed Budweiser beer and a slice of apple pie.

He has read the S.F. Chronicle newspaper back in the days when you could buy four different papers a day.

Bob is survived by nephews Bob (Rose) Kelly and John (Sarah) Kelly. Great-nephews Matthew (Kate) Kelly and Philip Kelly and great-great-nephew Liam M. Kelly.

Memorial donations can be made in his name to the Humane Society.

A memorial service will be held on Tues Oct. 6, 2009, at 1:00 P.M. in Duggan’s Mission Chapel 525 West Napa St. Sonoma CA.
