Robert S. Eckett, of Morgan Hill, peacefully passed in his sleep on September 22, 2007. He was 75.

Born March 18, 1932, he was known best as “Grampa”, “Dad” or “Bob” to all that knew him.

A retired cook from the Elmwood Correctional Facility, he began cooking in the navy and became head cook there for 5 years.

Some of his greatest joys were fixing up the house, cooking massive dinners, cribbage, watching Giants games, holding his twin kitties, and talking with Caesar, Apollo, Eddie and Snoopy, his dogs.

He will be greatly missed, and remembered for his giving personality, his jokes and his antics, by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Robin Julene Eckett; grandsons, Calvin Calhoun, Xavier Bonton, Cameron Bonton, Napoleon Bonton; former son-in-law, Christopher Bonton, Marcus Marzette and step-grandchildren, Daniel Zavala, Mike DeVos and Marla DeVos.
