Hollister resident
Hollister resident Robert Barrios Ureno died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003 after a short illness while visiting his birthplace in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico. He was 52.

Mr. Ureno’s family moved to Hollister when he was a boy. He graduated from San Benito High School and worked most of his adult life at Tri-Valley Foods. He later worked at Gilroy Foods, where he was to return following his vacation.

He is survived by his father, Francisco Ureno of Jerez; his children, Daisy and Steve Ureno of Hollister; his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Tony and Blanca Ureno, Manuel and Chilo Ureno and Rudy Ureno, all of Hollister, Frank and Lamon Ureno of Texas, Amy and Jesse Villareal of Newman, Luis and Andrea Ureno, and Yolanda and Victor Rocha, all of Rialto; and his former wife, Leticia Arredondo Ureno of Hollister. Other family members in Jerez, southern California and the Hollister area also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Ureno.

Services were held Jan. 8 were held at La Porroquia with burial in that city’s Emaculado Concepcion Cemetery.
